So I’m leaving to do my regretting and grieving
And my reflecting on how I’ve missed the mark

And the start of our new life of bliss

Well don’t stay up too long
Because while I am gone
I’ve got business I need to attend
And before I’ll be bringing a brand new beginning
This ending I just may extend

You’ll start counting the days
Once you’ve sent me away for time of intense contemplation
It might take some rehearsing, some trial and error to be sure the changes have taken
Since I’ve only one shot, I’ve given some thought that this calls for collaboration
And I know of a girl who might give it a whirl and work with me on my transformation

So…I’m leaving with my eyes red and my chest a heaving,
But knowing I’m going to learn to be a better mate
So I don’t make one more mistake
Well it’s said that practice makes perfect
So I’ll practice hard you wait and see
And when I return I’ll be a better man, but there’s no telling when that may be
I’m starting to feel like a better man, so don’t leave the light on for me.
Yes when I return I’ll be such a good man, that you won’t be good enough for me!
